The Architects Accreditation Council of Australia (AACA) is an independent, self-funded, Not-For-Profit organisation set up by the statutory state and territory Architect Registration Boards. The AACA support nationally consistent high quality qualifications and licensing of architects in Australia.
The opportunity:Join AACA as a key member of the team, reporting into the CEO, you will be responsible for the assessment of AACA’s various architectural accreditation programs, utilising your outstanding coordination and project management skills to successfully operate our programs against relevant standards and ensure quality assurance practices are met.
You will work collaboratively with AACA’s wider assessment team and assist in providing outstanding service to our clients and stakeholders.
You will be required to have high level organisation and effective planning skills with the ability to prioritise competing tasks and projects, and ensure all work is completed to quality standards.

This role is designed to be a part-time position (4 days per week) with the opportunity to work remotely from home 1 day per week, with the exception of the initial training process which will be provided in the office.
Key tasks include:- Ongoing review, assessment and recommendations of AACA’s programs, including:
- Accreditation of Architectural Education Providers – coordinate the peer review process through which all architecture programs in Australia are assessed against the accreditation standards
- Overseas Qualification Assessment – Assessing overseas qualifications in architecture for migration and registration purposes, including research and analysis of relevant educational and registration systems
- Experienced Practitioner Assessment (EPA) – assessing applications to fast-track registration for practitioners with relevant education and experience at an executive level in complex projects
- Architectural Practice Examination (APE) – ensuring persons applying to be admitted to a Register of Architects in any state or territory in Australia have an adequate knowledge and understanding of the practice of architecture in Australia and a capacity to exercise professional skill
- National Program of Assessment (NPrA) – managing the competency-based assessments for those who have substantial skills and experience in the architectural profession, but do not have a recognised architectural qualification
- Provision of secretariat services for panel members and committees
- Liaison with stakeholders, committee members and panel members
- Preparation of monthly reports on applications and website usage
- Additional support to CEO on special projects as they arise
Key attributes required include:- Experience in co-ordination and project management
- Excellent organisational, administrative and time management skills with the ability to manage competing tasks and priorities
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Outstanding writing and analytical skills to support a range of different projects and research requirements
- Sophisticated computer literacy abilities including MS Office
- Self-motivation, with the ability to work with limited supervision within a team environment
- Prior knowledge of architectural training and educational systems not required
