DBI Design are a top tier multi-disciplinary practice incorporating Architecture, Masterplanning, Urban Design, Interior Design and Landscape Architecture and Procurement within their specialisms. Established for over 40 years, they are a leader in innovative designs across multiple sectors in Australia and overseas.
This highly regarded established studio, is currently seeking an Associate Director/Architect to join and help lead their close-knit Brisbane studio. Known for their high standing within the industry, and with an enviable pipeline of work, DBI take pride in achieving great commercial and design outcomes for their clients.
The Opportunity
As an Associate Director/Architect of the practice, you will lead a team focused on a variety of sectors including, but not limited to mixed use multi-residential, commercial, hotels and hospitality projects. Your role will include aspects of business development, strategy, early feasibility and master plan work through to project delivery incorporating client management and team leadership. You will oversee multiple teams through all phases and types of projects. The position requires exceptional client and leadership skills, and a strong connection to the local Brisbane market. Candidates must be ambitious, driven to succeed and team oriented. The current pipeline of work includes several high-profile projects that require expert oversight and a passion to deliver an exceptional outcome. This role comes with a clear and obvious pathway to eventual Directorship of the practice.
Skills and Experience to Thrive
- Experience delivering large scale projects from inception to completion
- Must be a Registered Architect
- Business development skills including fee proposals, feasibility experience and presentation skills
- Working knowledge/ understanding of Revit
- 15 years’ experience in practice +
- Good overall design skills and sensibility
- Industry client connections in the Development, Commercial and Planning space
- Strong attention to detail
- Mentoring, coaching and knowledge sharing skills, ability to deliver quality outcomes through others
- Strong, persuasive communicator with excellent verbal presentation skills and the ability to communicate complex design concepts to clients
- Client relationship development and management skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and build relationships that thrive internally
